先后任日本九州大学农学部访问研究员,新加坡国立大学淡马锡生命科学研究院博士后(Postdoctoral Fellow),研究员(Research Fellow)和研究组长(Manager)。从事水稻和小油桐遗传改良和基因组选择研究。曾赴美国、日本、瑞士、新加坡和印度尼西亚等国家进行学术交流和合作研究。曾主持国家973, 863计划和国家自然科学基金项目多项。发表SCI论文80余篇。其中以第一作者或通讯作者发表24篇。

20126月到南京农业大学农学院任教授,博士生导师。2012年入选江苏省双创人才。研究水稻氮高效和耐盐碱分子机制,杂种优势利用和基因组选择育种。主持国家重点研发计划(课题负责人),国家科技支撑计划(子课题负责人)和国家自然科学基金等项目。近五年以通讯作者或第一作者在New PhytologistIF7.554)等发表SCI文章12篇。以通讯作者和参加撰写英文研究专著各一章(Book Chapter)。
